No. 13 - Goto A Formula One Grand Prix
I have watched Formula 1 for as long as I can remember. I took a real interest probably about 1985 when (Sir) Nigel Mansell 'Our Nige' almost won the world Championship in Australia (He was leading the final race, few laps to go & just needed to get to the finish when his tyre blew up & he was out - (typical of his luck!)
Anyhow, I didn't really miss a race from then until May 1994. That was the race Ayrton Senna died.
After that we had the great Damon Hill days, & nowadays it's Jenson Button.
My work takes me to some of the Formula 1 companies based in the UK, and I have seen some famous faces & seen the cars close up.
But I've never been to a race. Closest I have got was in June this year when I was in Monaco on the Wednesday after the Monaco GP.
My Favourite GP would of course be the British one at Silverstone in the Summer, but wouldn't mind going to one overseas, maybe Spa? (Could tie in nicely with a 'work trip'?).
